About Lee Otterholt
Lee Otterholt, born in the USA of Norwegian-American
parents, has lived and worked most
of his life in Norway as a professional dancer, teacher, and choreographer.
He founded the Center for International Folk Dance in Oslo;he was
also professor of dance folklore at the Norwegian National College
of Ballet, and University College of Oslo.
Lee established
folk dance and performing groups
in Norway, taught at festivals and workshops throughout Europe,
United States, and East Asia, and was the author of folk dance
and instructional manuals used in Norwegian schools. A choreographer
for folk ensembles, theater, and TV, Lee was one of the principal
choreographers for the Opening Ceremony of the Winter Olympic Games
in Lillehammer.

Day 1: Monday, April 9:
Departure on Delta from JFK airport in New York City.
Days 2-4: Tuesday-Thursday, April 10-12:
Thessaloniki: (3 nights)
Morning city tour. Includes Aya Sofia, the White Tower, Museum of Archaelogy, and
Ethnological Museum of Macedonia. Day trip to Mt. Athos: the monk’s republic. Folk
dancing with local groups.

Days 5-7: Friday-Sunday, April 13-15:
Kalambaka: (3 nights)
Easter in Greece ! Celebrate with the monks and local people of Kalambaka.
Visit breathtaking cliff monasteries of Meteora. Rising from gigantic rocks, they
appear as nature's gift to the pious who chose solitude and a life of worship. Lunch
and Greek folk dancing in a local Kastraki restaurant.
Days 8-10 Monday-Wednesday, April 16-18:
Ionnina Capital of Epirus.
Morning city tour includes a visit to the home (palace, residence)
of Ali Pasha, former, 19th century governor (pasha) of Epirus! Day trip to the
mountain villages of the wild and beautiful Zagori region. Evening folk dance and
folklore program.
Days 11-13 Thursday-Saturday, April 19-21:
Ionian Island of Corfu.
Our Visit to this seductively beautiful island includes a walking tour of the elegant,
graceful Kerkira Town plus leisure time to relax, shop, and enjoy the beach.
Days 14-15 Sunday-Monday, April 22-23:
Athens.
Overnight at Phillopos Hotel. Monday morning transfer to the airport.
FOUR DAY GREEK ISLAND CRUISE EXTENSION!
Day 15 Monday, April 23:
Leave Athens and sail to Mykonos. Lunch on board.
Day 16 Tuesday, April 24:
Visit Kusadasi in Turkey. Optional excursion to the ancient
city of Ephesus, best preserved Greco-Roman city in the world. Sail to the beautiful
island of Patmos where St. John wrote the Book of Revelation.
Day 17 Wednesday, April 25:
Sail to Rhodes. Explore the medieval city. Return to the
ship that night or stay for the Rhodes extension.
Day 18 Thursday, April 26:
Visit Heraklion, capital of Crete. Optional excursion to the
Palace of Knossos. Then onto Santorini, home of the legendary kingdom of Atlantis.
Day 19 Friday, April 27:
Arrive in Piraeus. Transfer to airport for flight back home.

Days 17-21 Wednesday-Sunday, April 25-29:
Included are accommodations and daily
breakfasts Sunday morning flight to Athens, then flight home on April 29.
