Hi Jim,

Gora means mountain in Polish. A goral is a mountaineer (goralka would be female). Jo is actually Ja which means “I”. The folk song does get used when we choreograph mountain suites. I don’t know which version you are talking about, but as you know from going to Zakopane, the youth of these mountain regions make new recordings everyday.

People from the mountains are very very proud of their heritage. Gorale first, Polish second so the title is just that – A proclamation of being a mountain man!

1 Step fwd on R (ct 1), step fwd on L (ct 2)

3 Step back on R (ct 1), step back on L (ct 2),

Moving to the right, body facing fwd: hands in W position
